An attended funeral includes a service at the crematorium or cemetery that takes place at the same time as the cremation or burial.
A family-led funeral service is a funeral where the family takes the lead in planning and conducting the ceremony, rather than a funeral director.
A direct cremation is a simple, unattended cremation with no service or mourners present. A traditional funeral includes a full-length service with mourners in attendance, often followed by a procession and burial or cremation.
When you appoint us, you’ll be assigned a personal funeral planner to guide you through every step. We’re also available 24/7 if you need to speak with a funeral professional at any time.
We work with crematoria and cemeteries across the UK. If you’re arranging an attended funeral, you can choose the one that feels right. For direct cremations without a service, we’ll select a trusted crematorium close to home.
Yes. If you choose to include a viewing in your package, we’ll arrange a chapel of rest near you through our trusted partners so you can visit your loved one in a peaceful setting.
Each package includes a standard veneered coffin with brass-effect handles. If you’d prefer something different, such as wicker, solid wood, or a specific colour, we’re happy to help arrange this for an added fee.
Flowers aren’t included in our packages, but your funeral planner can help arrange something meaningful. We’ll simply pass on the florist’s cost with no markup.
Yes, funeral expenses can be paid directly from the deceased’s bank account without going through probate. If the account is frozen, the invoice can be presented to the bank for payment directly to us. Please note, credit cards may not be used, and if there are insufficient funds, the balance will need to be settled by the person arranging the funeral.
We ask for full payment before the cremation date. A £500 deposit confirms the arrangements, with the remaining balance due at least 5 working days before the funeral. While we don’t offer instalment plans, we can connect you with independent funeral finance providers if needed.
You can use an insurance policy to pay for the funeral; just let us know the details when you get in touch. Most providers will need the funeral invoice and a death certificate. Some may pay us directly, while others release funds to the person named on the policy.
The Funeral Market was created to help families arrange a funeral with care, clarity, and support. When you appoint us, you’re assigned a dedicated funeral planner who takes the time to understand your wishes and helps ensure everything is arranged just as you need it.
We serve families across England, Scotland and Wales with simple, flexible packages, transparent pricing, and 24/7 support.
